How To Create A Twitter Wallpaper

Like any other social networking sites, twitter has become a popular website today. From different corners of the world, tweets and messages are flying around the atmosphere. Twitter is actually a very user friendly site where you can send tweets of up to 40 words per post. You are not limited to write down any thoughts you have. The good thing also with this is that, twitter sends your tweets to your followers. So, if you have more than a thousand followers, they will be able to receive your message after you hit Tweet!

A lot of twitter users have been trying to customize their profiles by changing their background wallpaper image and their avatar. The problem is that it is hard to find free twitter wallpaper designs; however you can actually create one for yourself. You would need to follow the instructions below.

You have to decide what picture or image to use as your background layout. There are tons of free images you can actually download from websites on the internet, so you might as well need to do some google image search. Try using “royalty free images’ or free images as you keywords for research. Photobucket.com is also handy. If want to have your own picture as the background, you have to consider the dimension or the pixel size of your picture since you will be doing some picture enlarging to fit the layout in twitter. It’s better to have a vivid and crisp look of your wallpaper.

You will be needing a photo editor. Fancy ones like the adobe photoshop can be a little expensive to buy, so you can always use various applications that are free online. Why not try paint.net? It’s free and handy too. Your computer might have paint application. You can use that as well.

When you are going to edit your image, make sure to fit the whole image throughout the work area of your application (paint.net/adobe.etc). The work template size you need to have should be set to 14.50 inches (width) and 11 inches (height). This dimension may seem to be very big but this assures you that the whole twitter layout will be filled.

When uploaded the image you want to paint editor, you can crop and resize your image any way you like it. You don’t have any limit to what kind of image manipulation you would do. Your creativity and artistry is your limit. You just need to fill the whole work area with all the things you want to appear as your background.

When you are done with the image editing, you can save the file as gif, jpg, or png. Once done, it should be ready for upload in twitter. Note that the file size should be 800k or smaller (you can see it when saving the file). Save the file to a location you can remember for easy search during the upload.

Log into you twitter profile, go to SETTINGS tab. Click “Change Background Image”. Click on “Browse” and find the saved image file you have in your computer. Click “Save Changes” to upload the file. Once done, open your profile account in a new Window and notice the changes you made. You can repeat the whole process if you want another cool background in your account. Have Fun!

  • Background image files for twitter should be 800k or smaller and a gif, jpg, or png file
  • Once you have customized your page you can change the design colors to match your new twitter design
